Payment Protection Insurance (PPI)

What is Payment Protection Insurance?

Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) was a product designed to provide you with a sum of money to cover your monthly credit repayments if you were unable to work due to illness, an accident or unemployment. Many customers had PPI policies attached to their products, sometimes without their knowledge or consent. This was even applied in instances where the customers were not eligible to claim because of their circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make a complaint myself?

Yes, all the complaints we deal with can be made directly to the provider. You can also complain directly to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) for free. However, with 14 years of experience, our experts will take some of the stress and deliberation out of the process.

Is there a time limit for me to complain?

Yes, a deadline to submit a PPI complaint has been set by the FCA for 29/08/2019

Can I still make a complaint if I no longer have any paperwork?

Yes. We have a pre-submission process with most providers and we just need some of your basic details to find out if you paid PPI, and on which accounts.

What is Plevin/Unfair Commission?

Most banks were taking commission on the PPI they were selling. A high court ruling deemed that any commission of over 50% of the cost was unfair and the customer should be refunded the difference.

Can I still complain if the PPI policy has expired?

Yes, even if you cancelled the policy or have finished repaying the credit, you can still make a complaint if you were mis-sold the PPI.

How will I be paid if my complaint is successful?

The lender will pay the money directly to you either by cheque or into your nominated bank account. We will then send our invoice for you to settle once you have received your refund.
