What is a packaged bank account?

A Packaged Bank Account is a current account with extra features. These extra features vary but may include mobile phone insurance, breakdown cover and better interest rates on other financial products such as loans. There is usually a monthly fee attached to this type of account. Many banks charge for these additional features, even when the customer is unable to take advantage of them. E.g. they already had mobile phone insurance.

No, this will not alter your relationship with the bank.

I am currently using the benefits of the account; will these be taken away?

If the bank identifies an issue with the account, they may downgrade it meaning you would no longer be able to use the benefits attached to the account.
